“Cane River” by Lalita Tademy
I picked up Cane River around the same time as I was reading The Book of Negroes, so I haven’t actually read it yet. But it has Oprah’s stamp and it is always interesting to read about the journey of African-Americans.
The “New York Times” bestseller and Oprah’s Book Club Pick–the unique and deeply moving epic of four generations of African-American women based on one family’s ancestral past. Published 2001.
