Made Me Think

I love to learn, and with the internet, the opportunities are endless. I love to read something, or hear something, that really makes me take a moment to think. It may be a quote that touches me. Don’t call me childish

Adora Svitak ted talkCan you imagine being this smart and confident when you were this age. As described by TED, child prodigy Adora Svitak says the world needs “childish” thinking: bold ideas, wild creativity and especially optimism. Boy wears dress to funeral

Man wears dress to funeralThis story touched my heart for a number of reasons. One was because it showed the obvious love and respect this boy had for his friend. The strength to do what he did was incredible. But it also touched me as I know there is a local man here in Victoria who recently passed away and his funeral is today. I have been amazed by how many people knew him and how our large world is really small. He left an incredible legacy, one that we all should be striving to do. The boy in this story showed the depth of connection and the gift of legacy. May they rest in peace.

Xena the dog warrier

Xena the dog warrierSince I seem to be having a theme of dogs today on my blog, I thought I would add this touching story about an abused dog named Xena who was adopted into a family and brought love to their autistic son. Sweet sweet story.

Shawn Achor – Happiness Guru

365-6I love all the quotes and inspirational videos on social media. And I love how one link can lead to another link until you find that one that really clicks. This TED talk video did that for me and spurred me on to creating 365dayMom.  Shawn Achor is a guru on happiness. His talk is funny and makes you think. I have since read lots of articles and books by him. But take the time to enjoy this one for the moment.
