Day 249 – A Change of Scenery

Change of SceneryThis week I am in Abbotsford BC watching my son play in the High School Rugby Championships. They play once a day, so the rest of the time I’m hanging in my hotel room and getting so much done!

It is amazing how a change of scenery has not only motivated me to get more done, but having taken away all the distractions of home my concentration levels have become so much better.

So maybe I’m not as much of a squirrel as I thought. It is my home that is the problem!

Another thing that has been good for my change of scenery is that I have had to walk way more as I’m sharing a car with my husband, and since he likes to watch the rugby all day, I just want to watch one game. A few good walks have been amazing and make me feel good about moving this body more than I have been lately.

And now I want to schedule myself in each month for a Change of Scenery! Because if that is all it takes to really get re-focused and on top of things, then what a great use of my time.

It doesn’t have to be anywhere special. But it does need to be somewhere that I have:
1) no friends to have coffee with
2) no house to clean
3) no kids to drive around
4) no appointments to make (or if so, then just one that I know has a start and end time and doesn’t over-commit my day}
5) has good wifi connection so I can stay connected with all that needs to get done for work

Simple!

Now where shall I go next month?

Movie Friday – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good The Bad and The UglyI mentioned this my post on The Obnoxious Roommate so had to make it the Friday Night Movie. I first saw The Good, The Bad and The Ugly with my grandpa when I was young. I remember not liking it, but liking watching it with him. And it was really long! A classic Western movie starring Clint Eastwood, it has continued to stay popular since its release in 1966.
