Netflix Addiction Day 7 – Suits

SuitsHappy dance – Suits starts up again tonight (first three seasons are on Netflix and current season is running on Bravo in Canada). Best banter on television with Mike and Harvey and the rest of the characters. Seriously fun watching, and intriguing. Love this show. Makes me want to be a lawyer. Okay no, but makes me want to have all the clothes in the series!

Day 128 – Mind, Body, Soul

Mind Body SoulMind, Body, Soul. What do you picture when you think of those three words?

My first image is of a logo a dear friend of mine designed for me back when I was first coming up with an event. We used the words mind, body and soul and it wasn’t even trendy then! She made up three boxes with mind, body and soul images in each. Hand drawn. Very sweet. We never landed up doing anything with them, but those words always take me back there. Because even almost 20 years ago, those three words were key.

Now flash forward, and the blog challenge today was about mind, body and soul and what we are going to do to feed those areas.

And interestingly enough, when I break down the three areas, I don’t think I am meeting my target in any of those areas on a daily basis. Overall I feel great, but when I root out these areas, I know I’m missing something. And that is not good for the long run.

MIND – I love to read and learn new things. But lately, as I try to learn so much, it has almost taken the fun out of it because I feel like I can never keep up with it all. To the point where I’m scattered and not feeling like I’m learning anything well. So I’m going to challenge myself to feed my mind with just one timeout per day to get my cup of tea and read an article or watch a podcast that will help me stay focused on my ultimate goal with my business. And will keep me focused and not distracted so I actually learn.

BODY – Eeeeks, do we have to go there? My morning intentions are always so good. My end of day “oh crap I never worked out today” realities are happening way too frequently. I literally forget!! So right now, I am going to plug into my calendar (with an alarm!) a time for me to exercise each day. I post things to do each day on my Get Moving blog, so I just need to do it.

SOUL – My soul is fed by many things that inspire me. I think we all have different levels of what inspires us, whether it be spiritually or not. My soul is often at its best when listening to an amazing song. It just gives me peace and happiness. But that means I have to actually stop and truly listen to the song. Almost a meditation pause but with cool music. So that is what I’m going to do. Maybe right now even!

The Beatles YesterdayThe Beatles had so many songs considering they had a relatively short time that they were together as a band. This song is so easy to sing along to since its been played since my childhood. “Yesterday, all my troubles seemed to far away…” Released 1965.

“Leaving Time” by Jodi Picoult

Leaving TimeI’m reading the book Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult right now and it is an interesting storyline. One of those ones that you keep wondering what the twist is going to be. And what do we believe. The main character Jenna’s mother disappeared when she was a child. She wants to know if she is still alive. And to do this she brings in a detective past his prime and a psychic. I can’t wait to get to the ending to find out what truly happened! Published 2014.
