Monthly Archives: December 2014
This book is so much fun which is why it was made into such a great movie too! I was lucky enough to have read the book before it became a movie, so really enjoyed building up the characters in my mind. There are two follow up books, but neither match the first one. Hard to believe, but this book was published in 1996.

I’m so happy that it is December! I love the Christmas season.
I got to start the season by going up to our local village Christmas Light Up. They close the main road and have carroll singers, roasted chestnuts, and Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck.
It was cold and crisp outside making it seem like actual winter which doesn’t really happen very often in Victoria.
My rugby kids volunteered. A great sense of community!
And I think that is what I like best about Christmas. The sense of community. Making time to spend with friends and family.
A couple of my friends have done gratitude advent calenders with their kids which I think is so awesome (next year I’m doing that!). See my Made Me Think post today for a link to making an advent calendar.
I like shopping in little stores that I don’t regularly go to. And I love finding the perfect gift or card.
And even though it is cold outside, I always find this time of year warm.
So here we go. The month begins!Share this post!
As I mentioned in my blog, some of my friends have put together Gratitude and Random Acts Advent Calendars this season. I feel guilty as I just put the chocolates in my kids advent calendars, but next year I’d like to do this. But for those of you who would like to do one this year, here is a site that gives you some ideas for filling it up.
