Day 71 – A Really Good Day

Happy daysDon’t you find that when your child has a good day you are so happy. And when it’s a bad day your heart breaks.

Today was a really good day for my son. He got selected to play for a u17 Canada West rugby team that he had set his sights on since he was 12 years old.

So happy for him. So proud.

Love these kinds of days. Because these kinds of days don’t happen all the time. We just want them to!

Because when the days don’t go well you just want to switch places with them. Take their hurt away. You want every day in their lives to be perfect.

Not realistic to want every day to be perfect. But us mama bears are allowed to hope that life is perfect for our children. Why would we not.

“Cider House Rules” by John Irving

Cider House RulesJohn Irving books are often different. Not the perfect description, but first one that comes to mind. They always have a twist to them. Cider House Rules as actually the first on of his books that I read. You won’t soon forget Homer Wells or the doctor who raised him in an orphanage, Dr. Wilbur Larch. Published 1985.

The Sheepdogs “Feeling Good”

SheepdogsWe saw the Sheepdogs in concert a few years ago, opening for Kings of Leon. They are such a throwback rock band. Makes you want to pull out your flare jeans and beaded leather vest!

Watch the band live

Shrimp Fettuccine

Shrimp FettucineA really easy recipe. We tend to make a lot of tomato based sauces for our pasta, so good to have this in the wheelhouse.
