When I first tried quinoa I hated it. Then I figured out that you were supposed to wash and soak the brand I had bought. It really did taste awful. Since then I usually buy the pre-washed version and now even the kids really like it. Combining it with curry makes it extra yummy!
I was blessed to be able to travel to Italy this summer with my husband. Before I left a good friend told me to read Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter. So I bought it, packed it with me and it was so surreal reading it on the beaches of Monterosso, Italy! I could smell, feel, see and breathe the whole story. So if you have been to Italy, or ever plan on going to Italy, then this is a sweet read.

I grew up watching the Carol Burnett Show. The skits were funny, but the actors trying not to laugh was even better. With comedians Carol Burnett, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman you have to laugh. This won was one of my favourites as a kid and I was so happy when I discovered it a few years ago on YouTube. Makes me want to go to the dentist!
I love reading quotes. Sometimes it just take a good quote to get your day going well. Here are 10 I really like from Jim Rohn, a personal development legend who passed away in 2009. He was known for his thought-provoking and inspiring quotes. Make you think!
I’m going to try and make Mondays “new music Mondays”. New being anything in the last year that is!! So first up is Sam Smith. What an outstanding voice he has. Reminds me of the male version of Adele. There is something about his inflections that make his rendition of this song beautiful and unique. Released 2014.
